0493——Vincent (Starry, Starry Night)——Fifth Element——The Blue Album

Vincent (Starry, Starry Night)——Fifth Element

  Starry, starry night
Paint your palette blue and gray
Look out on a summer’s day
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul
  Shadows on the hills
Sketch the trees and the daffodils
Catch the breeze and the winter chills
In colors on the snowy linen land

  ★Now I understand
What you tried to say to me
How you suffered for your sanity
How you tried to set them free
They would not listen, they did not know how
  Perhaps they’ll listen now★

  Starry, starry night
  Flaming flowers that brightly blaze
  Swirling clouds in violet haze
Reflect in Vincent’s eyes of china blue
  Colors changing hue
  Morning fields of amber grain
  Weathered faces lined in pain
Are soothed beneath the artist’s loving hand

  Repeat★

For they could not love you
But still your love was true
And when no hope was left in sight
  On that starry, starry night
You took your life, as lovers often do
But I could have told you, Vincent
This world was never meant for one
  As beautiful as you

  Starry, starry night
  Portraits hung in empty halls
  Frameless heads on nameless walls
With eyes that watch the world and can’t forget
Like the strangers that you’ve met
The ragged men in ragged clothes
The silver thorn of bloody rose
Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow

  Now I think I know
What you tried to say to me
How you suffered for your sanity
How you tried to set them free
They would not listen, they’re not listening still
  Perhaps they never will

I took a long, long walk in the forest
But it didn’t stop the buzzing in my brain
I took a long, long swim in the ocean
But it didn’t wash away the pain

  Ah, you left me
  Why did you leave?
I made a long, long drive to the mountains
But it only made me feel more insane
I did a fast downhill on my skateboard
But it never blew away the pain

This man’s life has changed when he was 28 years old, a fall paralyzed him from the shoulders down. Now his life has again changed with the help of a robotic Exoskeleton.Since the 1950s, people have been promising to make paralyzed people walk. It’s really one of the goals of medical science. Dr. Tom Shakespeare is a professor of disability at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Shakespeare himself, a paraplegic offered details of the study published in the lancet neurology journal. Implants at either side of the skull were able to detect and translate into as it were computer movement, impulses of the brain,so that the individual wished to move and signals were sent enabling them to move. Shakespeare says controlling the machine through thought instead of say pushing a joystick on a wheelchair is a scientific breakthrough. It’s never been done from the brain controlling all four limbs, so that’s exciting for this domain of research. This is the brain thinking. I wish to reach out for that item. He says that even though brain waves move a machine instead of the person’s own body, the technology is still cost prohibitive. Yeah, this wheelchair that I sit in designed for me cost two thousand pounds. And what we need to do is to make this sort of technology which transforms lives available to more people in the developing world. Shakespeare says the technology of this Exoskeleton still has a long way to go before it can surpass even the voice commands of modern appliances.

Aging population a trend that is both challenge, opportunity

The central authorities have unveiled the first comprehensive document guiding the governments of various levels to cope with challenges of one of the largest and fastest aging populations in the world. Beijing News comments:
It is predicted that by 2035, the number of people above 60 years old will account for more than one-fourth of the country’s population, which is already the case in some big cities, and the proportion will surge to more than one-third by 2050.
International experience shows that it is the social security and public service system that bears the brunt of an aging population, although the demographic change also takes its toll on social vitality, innovation and growth.
But if policymakers incorporate the trend into their social management and national development policy portfolios and take sufficient and effective preemptive measures, the aging population will not necessarily become a problem.
As the experience of many developed economies shows, it is essential that the country transforms its growth model from one driven by production elements to one driven by innovation before the coming of the aging society, so as to minimize the impact of the loss of labor on the economy.
So while increasing the social investment and inputs for the elderly, improving elder care and retirement services and enhancing legal and social protections, the government must also build a high quality work force and introduce advanced and innovative technologies to improve productivity.
The plan therefore provides a guideline for local governments to change their perspective so that rather than seeing senior citizens as simply a financial burden they should view them as motivation for providing high-quality services and a better social environment. Treating the elderly well is a traditional virtue of the Chinese nation, and building a policy system for pensions, filial piety, respect for the elderly and a healthy social environment is also a must.
Therefore, the aging of the population itself is not a problem. It is an important trend showing the country’s social development.

  Yo-Yo Ma

There was one classical musician Jobs revered both as a person and as a performer:
Yo-Yo Ma, the versatile virtuoso who is as sweet and profound as the tones he creates on his cello.
They had met in 1981, when Jobs was at the Aspen Design Conference and Ma was at the Aspen Music Festival.
Jobs tended to be deeply moved by artists who displayed purity, and he became a fan.
He invited Ma to play at his wedding, but he was out of the country on tour.
He came by the Jobs house a few years later, sat in the living room,
pulled out his 1733 Stradivarius cello, and played Bach.
”This is what I would have played for your wedding,” he told them.
Jobs teared up and told him, “You playing is the best argument I’ve ever heard for the existence of God,
because I don’t really believe a human alone can do this.”
On a subsequent visit Ma allowed Jobs’s daughter Erin to hold the cello while they sat around the kitchen.
By that time Jobs had been struck by cancer, and he made Ma promise to play at his funeral.

These Foods Help Lower Your Cholesterol

Avoid foods high in saturated fat.
Saturated fat is the biggest contributor to elevated low-density lipoprotein, or LDL, cholesterol, says Scarlett Stussy, a registered dietitian and clinical nutritionist in Fort Worth, Texas.
Research suggests that limiting the amount of saturated fat you consume is associated with lower LDL cholesterol levels. “An easy way to do this is to swap out foods high in saturated fats with offerings high in unsaturated fats,” she says. “Shoot for eating less than 7% of your daily calories from saturated fat.”
Foods high in saturated fat include: Processed meats or those with visible fat, whole milk, cheese, and stick butter.
Choose foods high in polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats.
Consuming offerings that have polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats instead of food with saturated fats can help lower LDL cholesterol and may decrease the risk of heart disease, says Alex Lewis, a registered dietitian and product marketing manager.
Research suggests that total and LDL cholesterol can decrease by up to 12% when saturated fat is replaced by polyunsaturated fat in the diet, adds Jenna Bell, a registered dietitian. Bell is based in St. Petersburg, Florida. Consuming foods high in monounsaturated fats instead of saturated fats is also helpful for lowering cholesterol.
Foods high in monounsaturated and/or polyunsaturated fats include: nuts and seeds, peanut butter, olives, albacore tuna, salmon, mackerel, sardines, nut butters, avocado oil, olive oil, safflower oil, and sunflower oil.
Also, stay away from trans fats.
In addition to foods high in saturated fat, you should refrain from eating offerings that have trans fats – processed foods made with partially hydrogenated vegetable oil, says Dr. Don Hensrud, editor of “The Mayo Clinic Diet” in Rochester, Minnesota.
Removing partially hydrogenated oils from processed foods could prevent thousands of heart attacks and deaths each year, the FDA said. Partially hydrogenated oils are used to make some of these commercial products: crackers, cookies, pies and snack cakes.
